Merger of Practices - Beacon Medical Group
On 1st April 2014, Ivybridge Medical Practice merged with two other local GP practices - Plym River and The Ridgeway Practice . Partners from across the three practices were keen to come together to improve patient access, choice and support. Since then, we have been able to offer extended opening hours, access to new services - including a minor injuries unit and new dermatology and muskuloskeletal services.

We have surgeries on four separate sites and care for around 33,000 patients. In this interim period, we are making a number of changes behind the scenes to improve quality and consistency. At Plympton Health Centre, patients will see the biggest physical changes with a new merged reception and dedicated prescriptions desk.

However, for most patients there will not be many changes that directly affect them. You will be able to access the same Ivybridge Medical Practice team as before; and those patients that use services at Ivybridge Medical Practice will be offered the opportunity to be seen by alternative doctors and clinical support to ensure a quicker response.
